Edward John

The Enemy

Across the field, a world away,
He lies and waits, endures and prays.

Within his soul he is like me,
He longs for home, misses family.

A fierceness burns within his breast,
He’s vowed to fight, he will not rest.

A patriot, he is deployed,
Until he kills or is destroyed.

His country made his mission clear –
Defeat the enemy waiting here.
