No Whining

I prefer the example of Sam Lopata.
whose father died in Auschwitz. He grew up
broke in Paris and then designed restaurants in NY.
His favorite was the “love in the ruins” look
created by building a perfectly finished dining room
and hiring a wrecking crew to destroy it, leaving
dangling wires and rubble around the tables.

Life goes on—he said—you go into the wreck
and have fun.
Get it?
