Homework, Sweet Homework

Homework, sweet homework
you heavenly thing,
as soon as I see you
I dance and I sing.
There’s nothing on Earth
that I care about more
than homework, sweet homework,
the work I adore.

There’s no better way
to spend most of my time
than doing that homework
I think is sublime.
I have a suspicion
I’d always be blue
if I had no homework,
sweet homework to do.

Homework, sweet homework,
how lovely you are,
I’d take you along
if I flew to a star.
My friends think I’m loony
to take such delight
in homework, sweet homework —
they’re probably right.
