The Buddha is smiling
and at the same time casts down his eyes,
          as Buddha so like to do,
as if a little afraid
          to look at us.
Perhaps he has seen enough
          of this world.
Someone entered
          from another gallery and says
to a friend coming up behind him,
          “Nothing here.”
